പണ്ട് പണ്ട് ഒരിടത്ത് ഒരു ആന ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.ആന ദിവസവും കുളിക്കാനായി കുളത്തിൽ പോകും പോകുന്ന വഴിക്ക് ഒരു തയ്യൽകട ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു . തയ്യൽകടയിലെ തയ്യൽക്കാരൻ ആനക്ക് ദിവസവവും പഴം കൊടുക്കും .
ഒരു ദിവസം ഈ തയ്യൽക്കാരന് ഒരു തമാശ തോന്നി . ഈ ആനയെ ഒന്ന് പറ്റിക്കാം എന്ന് വിചാരിച്ചു . അപ്പോൾ തയ്യൽക്കാരന്റെ കടയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ആന ദിവസവും ഉള്ളത് പോലെ തുമ്പികൈ നീട്ടി . തുമ്പികൈ നീട്ടിയപ്പോൾ തയ്യൽകടക്കാരൻ സൂചി വെച്ച് തുമ്പികൈക്കിട്ടൊരു കുത്തു കൊടുത്തു പാവം ആന , ആനക്ക് വേദനിച്ചു ആനക്ക് ദേഷ്യവും വന്നു ആന ഒന്നും മിണ്ടിയില്ല . ആന മിണ്ടാണ്ട് നടന്നു പോയി . എന്നിട്ട് കുളത്തിലേക്ക് കുളിക്കാൻ പോയി . എന്നിട്ട് തിരിച്ചുവരുന്ന വഴിക്ക് ആന തുമ്പികൈ നിറച്ചു വെള്ളം എടുത്തിട്ട് വന്നു എന്നിട്ട് തയ്യൽക്കാരന്റെ കടയിലേക്ക് വെള്ളമങ്ങു ചീറ്റികൊടുത്തു . തയ്യൽക്കാരന്റെ തുണിയും കടയും എല്ലാം നനഞ്ഞു .
