Short Speech on Republic Day (26th January) for Students and Children’s in English

A very good morning and Happy Republic Day to everyone! Today is 26th January, our Republic Day! We all have gathered here to celebrate this day of our National importance. On this occasion I would like to say a few words that will help me to express my gratitude and love for my country.

On 26th January, 1950 our constitution came into being which was written by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. It is a very important event in history of our country. Our country’s administration is based on this constitution and it is a part of the peaceful life that we are living today as citizens of India.

On this day, I would also like to pay my gratitude to all the great freedom fighters and soldiers who gave-up their life for our nation. Although, India is an independent country only the battle is half-won. There are many social issues that the citizens of this country are facing. So, we must consider this day as an opportunity to come together and solve these problems.

Today, gatherings and social events will be organized across the country. It is a great way to express our happiness and rejoicing our great Indian culture. It is also a great day to start being a part of the social initiatives that are carried out and doing our bit for the progress of our nation. So, today let’s pledge not take our freedom for granted and join hands together for making India a better place.

Jai Hind!
